Products 2012
The various models from Velodrom have a number of basic qualities in common. But they are all "individuals", in order to fit a variety of face and head shapes. For a "normal" head and face, all Velodrom glasses are suitable, but those who have been blessed with an unusually "masculine" nose (or the contrary) or have a very "long" face, might want to try several models to find their favourite.
The best way to find the perfect glasses is to visit a Velodrom retailer and take your time. Read below the special features of each Velodrom model. If you ride with an open-face helmet the fitting around your nose is critical for wind protection.
Why the variety of lenses? The Smoke lens is a traditional "sunglass" that reduces the intensity of incoming light. The Nightrider lens is a light-yellow high-definition lens for dusk, fog and bad visibility. It brightens your vision by ajusting the contrasts to the extreme. That's why yellow lenses are so good for skiing or snowmobile riding in grey weather – they squeeze the contrasts out of the grey, so you see where you're going. The orange-brown Dayglow lenses are yellow lenses taken a step further. With the same efficient shield against annoying blue light, but with softer contrast, the Dayglow lenses give you better, almost "magic", vision and keeps your eyes alert longer. Many people with vision handicaps wear orange-brown lenses for these reasons. All lenses, of course, give a certified UV protection.
All glasses are shipped with a microfibre pouch that can also be used to clean the glasses. Recommended retail price: 29,50 €.

Customers outside Scandinavia are welcome to buy their glasses directly from Velodrom. We send you an invoice through PayPal and ship the glasses to your doorstep.

Blues Smoke (VEL01) |
Blues Nightrider (VEL04)
|
Blues Dayglow (VEL07) |
| One of the most popular Velodrom models throughout the years was also the very first. Blues was the star of the debut collection of 1988 and sold incredibly well. Eventually the somewhat "80s-styled" model became dated, however, and we have hade a replacement on our drawing-boards for some time. Please meet new Blues of 2009. Smaller and leaner, new frame material (same as the rest of our glasses), flexible hinges, fit both men and ladies. There will also be a selection of Blues with reading glasses later this year. |

Palermo Dayglow (VEL37) |

Ventura Smoke (VEL41) |
Ventura Nightrider (VEL44) |
Ventura Dayglow (VEL47) |
| Ventura is a slim model "biker-style". The nose opening is narrower than some of the other styles, and Ventura thus keep the wind out also for bikers with small nose. Fits many lady-riders very well. |

Aviator Nightrider (VEL74)
|
|
|
| Aviator ”light goggles” got their name from the interest we take in free-flying. They are excellent also for skiing and boat-racing. With a thin helmet the elastic band can be worn outside the helmet, or else inside. |
 |
Phoenix Smoke (VEL51) |
Phoenix
Nightrider (VEL54) |
Tornado
All-weather (VEL66) |
Phoenix are very tight shades with its origin in the early 90s. Probably the last season for this model, though.
Tornado is also somewhat dated, but still popular. It is our "secret weapon" with lady riders who cannot find glasses with enough space for their eyelashes. It is particularly suitable for women also because of its slightly narrow nose opening. The mirror-coated yellow lens is a perfect around-the-clock lens. |
